Is there such a thing as being both fit and fat and having the same lower health risks as ideal weight individuals? A new study of over 43,000 people found that there is a "fit obese" type of person, and they are at no greater risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer or all-cause mortality than similarly fit normal weight people. They had substantially reduced risks from non-fit obese people -- 30% to 50% less risk of those major death risks than non-fit obese people.
