Bananas are an athlete's friend. You will see bananas offered at the finish line of marathons and half marathons because they contain potassium and natural sugars to feed your body what is loses in a long distance race. I was intrigued by ads for the Yonanas frozen treat maker that claimed to turn a plain old banana into a treat that looks and feels and tastes like ice cream. I bought one and was pleased and a little shocked that it works as advertised. It's a perfect diet dessert at 105 all-natural calories per 1-banana serving. The drawbacks? Well, you have to love banana-flavored treats (I do) and it is a single-purpose gadget.
